We modified it a little

I bought this mainly for my Pileated Woodpeckers. I found that the distance between the outer cage and the inner suet holding cage is too great for Flickers. The Pileateds can reach the inner cage but kept hitting the bars on it. So, we clipped a couple of the inner cage bars to enlarge the space. Now we wait and see if the Pileateds can reach in there. The overall feeder is long enough to act as a tail prop for the big birds and that is what I wanted. The Pileateds are very determined and will check all over the cage for an opening, so I think they will find it sooner or later. As for squirrels, it does keep them out.

Best to keep out bully birds

Worked great! All the little birds were able to feed off the suet but the bully birds...NO!
