This is definitely not 100% black bird/starling proof, however it does seem to slow them down. Woodpeckers love it!!
This suet feeder absolutely works! It took a few days before the sparrows discovered it. They tried but couldn't hang upside down and finally gave up. The grackles tried but were too heavy and they gave up. Now I see woodpeckers, titmice and chickadees on it every day. This was the best investment I made in a bird feeder, ever!
This is probably my third purchase of a bird feeder from JCs. These are quality products. The ones I bought last year have been outside in all kinds of weather and look brand new. Birds love them and they're also easy to clean, which is important to avoid spreading disease at crowded feeders.
Excellent. It took a few days for the birds to figure it out.
Normal suet feeders are overwhelmed here by starlings, sparrows and squirrels, and the suet is gone within a few hours. I love these because they cater to the woodpeckers and other creepers that I'd like to see. 100% recommend this design.
