JCS Wildlife 16" Rain Guard - Hammered Metal Texture

I have purchased 3, 16" red rain guards for our feeders. They do a wonderful job keeping the rain out of the feeder holes. As a bonus, it shades the nectar in the summers scorching heat. Our little hummers deserve the best and these MADE IN AMERICA are the BEST on the market. Notice our neighbor has one too!

I like the sturdiness of the metal rain guard versus plastic or glass. The 16" size is nice for more coverage. However, with no downward curve (like an umbrella), I don't think it helps much for rain protection when there's any slight amount of breeze. Water also leaks through the center hole where the top & bottom hook screw together. Maybe it would be better if the bird feeder used with the rain guard had an extremely short hanger so the feeder was closer underneath the rain guard. And now with winter and heavy snow, the snow collects on top of the rain guard and sometimes causes the guard to tip at an extreme angle, rendering it useless. So I've removed the rain guards now for winter.
