These seed cylinders are a favorite of birds. They last a while. I put them out when I will be out of town, during migration and in the colder months. I have seen a variety of species at the seed logs, including pine warbler.
Last year we purchased an owl house from JCS Wildlife--2 weeks later a screech owl moved in! He's back again this year--we love him being part of our back yard. We recently replaces the pine shavings. JCW Wildlife is a wonderful resource and makes safe products for wildlife.
Really great piece. Saving it for harsh winter and using the roofless feeder until winter really sets in. I think the doves especially will like it, but it will probably appeal to all the birds.
Great feeders for the ground feeders like doves which prefer feeding closer to the ground if possible. Cardinals also will perch on ground feeders. I put peanuts on one side for jays & woodpeckers and squirrels and regular seed on the other side for all other birds all of which will also feed on fallen seed on the ground. Only saw a squirrel on it once but know over time they will all use it at some point - so long as the cats aren’t around! Probably chipmunks too. Very durable feeder. I bring it in overnight so a deer won’t step on the tray and ruin it.
So far works great will have to see how well it lasts
