A woodpecker favorite

Now that cooler weather has returned, woodpeckers and nuthatches are eating more suet. The log jammer variety I usually purchase was not available so I bought the Peanut butter plugs instead. The consistency of these plugs is a bit stickier, but the birds don't mind that at all. They seem to love finding larger peanut pieces in the suet, too.

Birds love the logs!!

Birds love these logs but they only last 1 day. Actually if I refilled them, they would probably go thru 3 packages a day!!!

Our birds love the log feeder and the peanut butter suet. The birds clean it out in less than 24 hours. The cardinals, woodpeckers and others seem to take turns. The little birds stand on the wire and politely wait. I love watching this activity outside my kitchen window!
