Seed logs work well when you aren't able to refill feeders daily. It absolutely must be hung in a place that squirrels can't access, however. This log is so tempting, squirrels will risk their lives for just one bite.
If the log is solely accessible by birds, it will last a while and be more cost-effective.

A wide diversity of birds enjoy this seed block at our feeder. We have hung our feeder close to the banister on our deck so our squirrels and possums can enjoy it too. Also, when purchased in cases of six cylinders at a time, this is a very good price.

We have a wide variety of birds-finches, red birds, woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, titmouse - they all love this bird seed cylinder. I love the fact that the ground underneath is not covered with seed shells! A win win for all!

Woodpeckers, small song birds, bluejays, mocking birds, squirrels, and on and on. They all love these seed cylinders, so we buy them by the half dozen. We live at the beach, so if we have to evacuated this fall for a hurricane, I'm planning to thread a rope through a couple of these cylinders and tie them to the railing on our deck so the animals have food until we come back.
