I wanted to attract woodpeckers near my house so thought I’d try something different. Filled it up with shelled peanuts and within a few hours got a red bellied, pileated, and nuthatchers. Even better the squirrels don’t stand a chance with these feeders and jump off. They stick to eating the bits on the ground the birds drop.

We had a couple of “squirrel-proof” bird feeders before that didn’t last very long before the squirrels had eaten through the plastic. This photo is from over a year after we purchased this feeder. It still looks like new and keeps out squirrels.
