I wanted to attract woodpeckers near my house so thought I’d try something different. Filled it up with shelled peanuts and within a few hours got a red bellied, pileated, and nuthatchers. Even better the squirrels don’t stand a chance with these feeders and jump off. They stick to eating the bits on the ground the birds drop.

Blue jays, cardinals, chickadees, nuthatches, and even finches learn how to hang on to the mesh and feed on the peanuts. A great bird feeder that will frustrate the most persistant of squirrels.
