Brome Squirrel Buster Suet Bird Feeder 1106

I love feeding the birds. In order to attract Chickadees, Titmouse, and woodpeckers of various types, you NEED suet feeders. However, big, undesirable birds, and SQUIRRELS love suet too! That's why I purchased the Brome Squirrel Buster Suet Feeder. I have NO squirrels, but plenty of Doves, and Mexican Jays that just love to eat suet, and I didn't want them to monopolize like with traditional feeders.This feeder is built well, and the quality is evident right out of the box. It is a huge feeder. It has some weight to it, but nothing a senior citizen or someone with hand/wrist problems couldn't handle. You will need to make sure you have adequate room for it. The design is ingenious. The outer casing offers ample room for birds to get to the suet, but closes down to prevent the bigger birds and rascals to get to the suet. The system is designed to allow direct access to the suet and has an area below to catch crumbs so no waste is had. The suet cakes are automatically fed into position by gravity. As the birds eat and take the suet away, eventually the tray will slide down and give the birds a new strip of suet to feed from. The process repeats itself until the tray is empty. Sometimes this needs to be helped out, as the birds seem to eat upwards not understanding that the suet will drop down. Sometimes this needs to be helped by removing the thin area of the suet to allow it to collapse. The broken pieces fall to the lower area and all is consumed. I am sure that this is just because of the volume of traffic I have at the feeder. Busier feeders may not have this issue. It is NOT a design flaw. Loading suet cakes is painless. Simply disconnect the hanging hook and remove the outer shield. Pull the securing bars and swing them away. This exposes the tray. Repeat for both sides. Install your cakes. Lower the keepers. Close up and you are ready to start. Some suet cakes may stand a little tall and you may need to press the keepers into the suet cake. No big deal. Then just hand and enjoy the birds.I'm very happy with this suet feeder. I have a host of Brome Squirrel Busters and this fits right in. So happy to have my woodpeckers, Titmouse, and Chickadee's. Do not hesitate to get this feeder. If you have squirrels or big birds, like Doves and Mexican Jays, you need the Squirrel Buster Suet Feeder.

Please note this is huge! Like 6 suets put together but very effective. It does get pretty dirty from suet all over it. Overall still great!
