JCS Wildlife Double Colossal Ground Fly Thru Bird Feeder - Our Largest Bird Feeder Yet!

Bought this for my son. He is very happy with it and appreciates the high quality. He also liked the little hummingbird swing that was included.

This feeder replaces an old wooden feeder of about the same size. It was hard to find a large enough one to replace it. The wooden one was beginning to fall apart and this one will be so much easier to clean. My concern with this and a hanging one I also got, is that the little round millet seeds fit very snuggly in all the holes to block them and then it doesn’t drain. So I drilled some random larger holes and I think the problem is solved.

This feeder is beautifully made. The birds and squirrels gather around the feeder and also go in the feeder to stuff their little bellies.As I mentioned on another feeder that I commented on, the seeds get in to the holes on the feeder and it is hard to get them out. Other than that, the feeder is beautiful and looks great with the other three feeders that I bought from this company.

It was easy to put together sturdy and strong. It allowed for lot of seed because of its big trays.

The ground-feeding birds and squirrels love this feeder and it's large enough to accommodate them both at the same time. We've had the same experience as Karen L, with the little milo seeds blocking the holes. I've started stirring my seed mix through a colander and letting the milo seeds fall to the ground. The mourning doves, who have never used this feeder in over a month, will now come around to eat the milo seeds off the ground, so at least it's not wasted. But it then creates a potential for bacteria to grow on the ground, which I was trying to avoid with this new feeder. Overall, a great company and a very good product, but the size of the drainage holes needs some tweaking if you want to use a seed mix.
