Works perfectly with the Pine Farms Suet Plugs

I received two of these and put one in use right away. While the surface is very rough with lots of ways for us humans to get splinters, the birds think these are perfect! They can easily get their feet to cling to the rough wood - it must remind them of actual trees I guess. While there is no actual bark on these, the birds are having no problem. I will reserve the second one for when the first one gives in to the weather. I have gone thru three of another brand over the years and I actually like these better. While the other ones were smoother for us humans to handle and the birds did just fine with them, I was looking for another choice that would keep a bit more of the log inside the feeder. These are just what I asked for - they hold about 1/2" more of the length of the logs so I am not losing up to 1/4 of each log due to them falling out. The birds are still able to eat from both sides and have no problem cleaning up the food in the middle of the feeder. I really like them and you won't go wrong. As far as the weather, any unfinished wood will eventually give in to the weather and need to be replaced. You definitely want to leave these unfinished so the birds can get their feet to cling. I hope these will still be available when I need more - in a couple of years.

Simple Suet Feeder that the Birds Love!

It didn't take the birds long to find our new suet feeder. It was very popular and I will have to take it down for now as the grackles have hearty appetites and will eat us out of house and home. I will put them back up in the winter. In the meantime I will continue to use my caged suet feeder to slow them down.

Can't go wrong with this purchase!!! This is the 4th Squirrel Stopper Deluxe bird feeder pole system that we have purchased; three for us and one for a gift for our daughter-in-law. This is by far the most effective bird feeder pole we have ever found to keep the pesky squirrels and raccoons from climbing our feeder pole to empty and destroy our bird feeders. A little pricey but money well spent. We have easily saved the extra price of this feeder pole because we use much less bird seed now that the squirrels and coons can no longer raid the feeders. We raved about it so much that 2 of our friends bought them.

Chew resistant

I like the fact that it is made from plastic. Should keep the squirrels from chewing on it. It is heavy, so stronger screws are needed. The heads broke off when trying to install.

Terrific quality and easy to set up. Not a single squirrel!!
