Description

Soon you'll have no vacancies in this hotel! Invite your buzzing guests to stay a while with the JCs Wildlife Tall Insect Hotel. This insect hotel welcomes many different species of critters with multiple types of habitats, including bamboo tubes and drilled wood cylinders. With this assortment of habitats, the insects in your area are sure to nest, and your garden will thank you for it.

The top and bottom areas of this house are filled with bamboo tubes and drilled wood cylinders, which will attract solitary bees such as mason bees and leaf-cutter bees. These native North American bees are non-aggressive "super pollinators," meaning they are 30-60 times more effective at pollinating than honey bees. The middle area of this hotel also features a horizontal slat, which accommodates lacewings: a natural predator to pest insects and pest larvae. Introducing a new home for the insects in your area with an insect hotel is a great way to make your garden flourish through pollination and to keep pesky pests from nesting in your home.

This wooden insect hotel is constructed with insects in mind, with a metal roof that will keep your insects safe from the elements and a cedar wood body that will look attractive and functional in your garden. The JCs Wildlife Tall Insect Hotel comes with one mounting screw, which will easily and securely mount your house. This insect hotel also comes pre-assembled with detailed instructions showing how to attract the solitary bees and lacewings to your house. After installation, this insect hotel should not need any regular maintenance following installation. One will only need to make sure that the house stays securely mounted and stationary.

We recommend mounting this insect hotel in early spring on a tree or flat surface 3-5' from the ground. This Insect Hotel should not be placed near an area where pesticides or herbicides are used.

This "bee House has misleading measurements. The tubes that are supposed to be for mason bees are 2 inches long with a false back and empty space behind them. They are not long enough for any bee to use. I ordered this house because the description said it was almost 5 inches deep which is the preferred length for mason bees. The drilled holes are less than one inch deep so are also worthless for other solitary bees to use. The entire house looks nice but is of no use for any bee species.
