We live in an area that only gets snow / freeze occasionally. This year it's been much more and this works so well and doesn't get hot. Really happy birds, and affordable too!
Great The people were very professional and answered all my questions. I needed this heater to replace a 20 year old one that finally quit. The birds and squirrels are happy again.
I've had this heater for about 1.5 months. This product did keep my bath water clear in some very cold Ohio temperatures; when temperatures were in the teens, it only kept the water clear about 3" away from the main device but there was still liquid for the birds to access. However, over time I noticed cracks on the exterior surface. And eventually those cracks peeled back, exposing more and more of the interior metal. The packaging says "safe for all bird baths" but it did not last long for me--I have no idea if the copper bird bath had any effect on it. I contacted JCs Wildlife, who directed me to the K&H Manufacturer, who after 2 phone calls agreed to help me with a warranty claim and replacement. So I'll see if the replacement behaves any better.
