From the first day I put the Hummzinger feeder up in my front yard, I've had endless flights of hummingbirds at my front window. No other feeder I've tried has attracted birds so quickly. I wasn't sure if I'd like this feeder based on the pictures. It looked kind of simple and uninteresting. Now that I have a Hummzinger in hand though, I have completely changed my mind.This feeder is very well made. Both the red lid and the clear base are made of durable polycarbonate, a hardy plastic used in everything from eyeglasses to automotive materials. This stuff is hard, durable, scratch resistant, and fade resistant. I have confidence that this feeder will last a long time.It's easy to clean. The red lid pops off and creates a base to rest the reservoir on while you fill or clean it. Great feature especially if you buy the fancy hummzinger (the fancy hummzinger has a decorative brass piece on the bottom of the reservoir that makes it impossible to sit on the counter flat. The lid creates the perfect base to rest it on).As everyone else has noted, the slim, flat profile of the hummzinger makes it easy to view birds. I have one set at eye level and one that hangs up high on the back porch. Because of the great design, I can see birds drinking or sitting from any angle. Great design.The Hummzinger Fancy Feeder (http://www.amazon.com/Aspects-381-Hummzinger-Hummingbird-Feeder/dp/B001AHKNWC) seems to be slightly thicker, slightly better built, but the ultra hummzinger is just fine if you don't want the frillyness of the fancy feeder.Either way, you can't lose. The best feeder I've ever owned by far.And see the image above. Not only do the hummingbirds like the feeder, I now have every other creature, from grasshoppers to praying mantis', visiting the feeder on a regular basis. One creature that doesn't visit though, ANTS. The ant moat does a good job of keeping ants out of the water.... as long as it's filled with water. The ant moat is not very big. Mine dries up in about four or five days, but no matter, the water needs to be changed more often than that anyway.
