After making the move to our townhouse down-sizing for retirement, we couldn't give up feeding the wildlife. Seven years in now & our home is awesome , providing a good sized patio overlooking a watershed that has become a gorgeous little pond with tons of wildlife. The only thing is our limited space to feed the birds & of course the squirrels. I have a somewhat different approach to squirrel control. Let's be honest; Squirrels gotta eat. Instead of the usual battle I gave up and simply feed em & man can they eat. We now have the fattest squirrels around. BTW they make a great meal for the Eagles & Hawks that frequent the backyard. I originally purchased - "JCs Wildlife Poly Weather Cover" to weather protect our more expensive food. It does an incredible job. I'm certain saving us the ENTIRE COST - YEAR ONE! We have a tree hanging over the feeding station making a delightful tiny hop for "Tree-Rats" right on top of the station. To my surprise when our fat little pals jump onto the Poly Weather Guard they RARELY CAN GAIN A FOOT HOLD & SLIDE RIGHT OFF. Although JC's makes no claims or suggests using the Weather Guard as a squirrel deterrent it certainly protects our best foods for more than just weather. I hope to upload pics soon as we feed a lot of wildlife for a single feeding station. Racoon & the deer cleanup the patio nearly every night. As the sun rises several duck species & our furry rascals devour what's left. We had young buck early this year attempt to munch from the hanging cylinder (under the POLY WEATHER GUARD). He came back night after night thinking - "tonight I'll get it". NOPE - his nose begins to push the cylinder causing the ploy weather guard to tip and a corner gently pokes his head. Startled, jumps back to ponder & will make a few more tries but after only achieving several licks runs off. The Weather Guard has been one of the best yard investments ever! I couldn't have imagined how such a simple solution would deliver such entertainment. When I first saw the Poly Weather Guard admittedly I was taken back by the price. The construction and the materials used I have no doubt it will never need to be replaced, baring tornado (God forbid) or other weather destruction. If that ever occurred BTW, The Poly Weather Guard would be on my first rebuild shopping list. Forget the price - it's worth ten times the amount. On a 5-Star Rating System I give it at least 12 Stars.. I'm so impressed with with JC's use of poly I intend to replace every cheap China feeder now in use! It has done my heart good to see American Quality back in my yard. Once you have this in your & examine it I'm confident you'll be replacing your entire feeder solution as well.Be well & keep feeding,Douglas Swinhart St. Paul, MNPS - It's always dark when online but I promise to upload pics soon!
